Happy Holidays !!

Hello Lovelies!

November and December is definitely my favorite months of the year. The sparkly gold, red, green, and silver decor mixed with the warm smell of nutmeg and cinnamon just fills my inside with happiness and warmth. It has been a couple of crazy months and this past semester has not been an easy one. Lots of emotional ups and down when it comes to decisions and acceptance of what life throws at you. I’m trying to stay positive and move forward with new goals because I believe that everything happens for a reason. So for that I’m sorry for the lack of content and uploads but what I can guarantee is lots of new reviews will be coming because I may or may not have been a little naughty during Cyber Monday. Loads of new products for me to try and experiment with and its about time because I haven’t really purchased many beauty products this whole year! I have literally been trying to use up what I have and it has finally gotten to a point now where I am able to restock on some new products (mostly skincare).

So let me give you a little update on my current obsession. Cinnamon. This addiction started back in October  I think and it is still going strong. I’ve always been indifferent about it but something clicked and now I want it every chance I get. Mexican Mocha. Cinnamon Dulce Latte. Horchata. Cinnamon Rolls. Cinnamon Oatmeal. **Drools** Every winter I look forward to Starbucks Peppermint Mocha because it was my favorite holiday drink but this Cinnamon addiction is so intense that I haven’t had a single cup of Peppermint Mocha this holiday season.. that is CRAZY!

What is your seasonal addiction? I’m sure you have one (;

Until Next Time,
❤ Jess

Of course I would be sipping on a Cinnamon Dulce Latte while writing this post (:

Back to School Survival Kit

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Hello Lovelies!

To celebrate (not really -_-) back to school I am going to share with you my little survival kit that I carry around with me at school. I don’t retouch my makeup throughout the day so I don’t have makeup in this kit but I do have everything else that will come in handy throughout the day.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Granola Bar – Having a snack with me is essential because it doesn’t just cure your hunger while you’re in class, it also help wake you up when you are falling asleep in class.

Blotting Paper – The only thing I need to make sure I still look somewhat presentable throughout the day is blotting paper. By just soaking up all the oil my face produces it gives me a more refreshed look without actually applying more makeup. The Clean&Clear one works the best in my opinion.

Hair Brush, Tie, Bobby Pin – Especially when the weather is warmer you never know when you need to put your hair up.

Lotion, Nail Filer – Nothing is more annoying than when your hands are super dry after you wash them or when you have that annoying chip in your nail that will bother you until its fixed (that is if you didn’t already peel it off already). Having lotion and a nail filer with you is super handy and useful.

Chapstick – Although the one I have shown here is not a Chapstick (Shiseido Shimmering Rouge) the main point is to have a lip product that is moisturizing enough that will relieve your chap lip problem. Alongside the lotion and nail flier having a chap lip but no Chapstick can annoy the crap out of me.

Pads, Tampon, and pain reliever – Kind of self explanatory. Even if you don’t need it, its always nice to have one available because you never know which on of your friends will need one. Also I would like to add a side note that I do not have a pain killer drug problem because I lost my small refillable Advil bottle so I had to use my giant bottle for photographing.

Mirror – I wear contacts so when something gets in my eye it hurts like a mother. Unlike non contact wearers where you can just rub your eye hoping that whatever got in it will get rubbed out we can’t do that unless I want to be half blind for the rest of the day. Having a mirror is always useful.

Until Next Time,

❤ Jessica

Review: Lioele Be My Skin Twin Cake Compact

IMG_0043Hello Lovelies!

For those that are not familiar with the Lioele brand they are a Korean cosmetic company that has everything in the cutest packaging. Their stores no joke looks like a little princess room.

Lioele Be My Skin Twin Cake Compact SPF27 PA++
Color: Light Beige 21

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Packaging: No doubt about it this is the cutest, prettiest, most girlie packaging ever. The whole compact is made of pretty sturdy plastic so its not going to fall apart on you after a couple months. I especially like that it has the plastic puff holder divider (second cover) on the inside making it that much more sanitary because then your products is only exposed when you are using it. It does come with a puff but I don’t use it because I prefer to use my own brush.

Formulation: This powder is very finely milled and super smooth and silky to the touch. There is SPF 27 with PA++ so that is always good.

IMG_0046IMG_0047

Performance: The finish you get when you first apply it is very matte but will turn into a satin finish after about an hour. This doesn’t perform very well around dry patches because it will cling on to the skin and accentuate it. The staying power of this powder isn’t very good either because it will rub off very easily if you blot throughout. I have to blot about 4 hours after initial application because this powder also doesn’t control my oil very well.

Final Verdict: This is a powder for someone that doesn’t require oil control. I don’t have the oiliest skin so I can wear this for a couple hours before I need to blot but if you are someone that turns into a grease ball than I would definitely not recommend this for you. This is a great compact for those that like to reapply throughout the day because the packaging is cute enough to show off and it has a decently sized mirror. I don’t think I will be repurchasing this exact compact after I’m done but I will like to try the formulation for oily skin (color of the package is a shiny magenta). This works better during the colder months in comparison the the warmer weather now.

Until Next Time,
❤ Jessica

July Loves ’14

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Hello Lovelies!

Another month has passed which means its time to reflect back on this past month and think.. what products have I been really loving and reaching for nonstop?

I am going to start off with something that I have just been OBSESSED with..

Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara:I just reviewed it here and I have not stopped using this since I opened it in the middle of this month. I am not joking that I can’t stop admiring my own lashes as to how awesome it looks because I have finally found a drugstore mascara that will keep my stubborn stick straight lashes curled all day.

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF20 – Fair to Medium: I am not an outdoorsy person so when summer comes around and I bust out those shorts my legs can probably blind you from a mile away because they are so pale and white. I have tried Jergens regular moisturizers in the past so when I saw that they had one with SPF I was like SCORE! There is nothing better than finding a multifunctional product that works really well. This is a gradual self natural looking tanner that is a moisturizer with SPF that doesn’t stink or feel sticky. I think thats all I have to say for you to get the overall picture of how awesome this product is.

Moroccan Oil: I normally do a deep repair hair mask about once a week but since I finished the ones I had I haven’t had the chance to repurchase any so I didn’t have any to use this month. To compensate for the lack of extra moisture I usually give my hair I have been using this Moroccan Oil after I wash my hair. It leaves my hair feeling soft and good smelling without it getting greasy. I can’t say that it prevents my hair from getting damaged and split ends because I have a ton to begin with but it is one of the best leave in conditioner/oils I have tried.

Michael Kors Watch: I’ve had this watch for awhile now but it was never my go to watch until this month. I didn’t realize how versatile it was and the leather strap goes great with my casual everyday summer outfits. My other watches are linked watches so it just looks more formal with the metal hardware compared to the leather. Also leather is just more comfortable to wear when it gets hot and sweaty.

Puzzles and Dragons: I have been obsessed with this game! Its a game on you phone that has bejeweled type puzzles that you have to clear to fight monsters. Through the game you get to accumulate different monsters almost like pokemon and you also get to assemble your team to fight the next levels. It’s a lot more fun than a regular puzzle game like candy crush because your progress goes beyond just passing the level. You can add your friends that plays as well so you can assist each other through each stage/battle.

If you could recommend one product that you loved this month what would it be? AND if you play Puzzles and Dragons then we should probably be friends!

Until Next Time,
❤ Jessica

Review: Maybelline the Rocket Volume Mascara

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Hello Lovelies!

I have been on a Mascara Binge lately which would explain why I have so many mascara reviews up. I would like to do this review a little later but I just can’t contain how excited I am to have found this miracle worker in a tube.

Package: Feels just like any of the other Maybelline Mascaras.

IMG_0122

Brush: Although I have mentioned that I generally don’t like plastic brushes but I DO like this one. This brush is very similar to the CoverGirl Lash Blast Mascara (which is another mascara that I like as well).

Maybelline_RocketVolume_2

Formulation: The most PERFECT consistency. Just the right amount of wet but not overly wet that will make my lashes loose its curl.

Maybelline_Rocket Volume_1

Performance: I got this in the waterproof formula (my usual) and I haven’t experience much smudging during a 7+ hour day. Your lashes are properly separated without it clumping up and best of all it holds a curl fantastically!

Final Verdict: Hands down the BEST drugstore mascara I have ever used. The curling power of this is comparable to my beloved Majolica Majorca Mascara which is amazing because I have not found one that is comparable until now. My only complaint would be that I would like this to be a bit more volumizing. I’m not saying that it isn’t volumizing already because it is, but in a very natural way. I like a bit more volume but besides that I Really Really Really do recommend this to those that have trouble finding a mascara that will hold your curls.

Until Next Time,
❤ Jessica

Follow me to: The BEST Disney Theme park (Disney Sea)

IMG_0451

Hello Lovelies!!

Earlier this year I travelled to Tokyo, Japan and one of the stops we made was Disney Sea. I have been to all the parks at Disney world except for animal kingdom and I am season pass holder of Disneyland in LA.. The only thing you need to know is that Disney Sea is by far the best Disney park I’ve been to.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAI didn’t go to Disneyland mainly because we didn’t have time and it wasn’t really a priority to begin with. Disney Sea was a must go for me and it is soooo worth the visit. Its so pretty and the place is truly magical. The Japanese comes decked out in disney gear making me feel underdressed. There is a specific train that you take into the Disney park area and the tickets are sold at the shopping plaza area after you exit the Maihama Station.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA IMG_0429
The Ride that you must go to is called Center of the Earth. The style of the ride is like Radiator Spring at California where its a scenic tour at first then it speeds up. And the other one that was really unique in theme was the called the “Raging Spirit” (photographed above). It was a really short ride (reminds me of the Goofys Sky School in CA Adventure) but more thrilling and cool!

IMG_0440

Being the foodie that I am I probably stopped at every food vendor cart that was there.. and guess what.. they all have different things! I definitely recommend the popcorn because that stuff has crack in it or something because its so addicting. Throughout the park each popcorn cart is a different flavor. Milk Tea, Strawberry, Caramel.. and I think thats it. At least those are the ones I was able to hunt down.

If you go to Tokyo and have adequate time to visit the park and choose not to then you’re crazy because it is definitely worth the visit. Here are some other photos just to give you a feel of how beautiful the park was.

Would I Recommend these?… I think NOT

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Helllooo Lovelies!!

So I have shared a lot of my beloved product discoveries but as we all know there are many not so great products that was tried along the way. Instead of snatching a special spot in my collection of products they get their own special blog post.

Maybelline EyeStudio Cream Shadow Palette: Just don’t do it. This is one of the worse cream shadow products I have tried. If you have tried the old NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow pencil and those don’t work for you then I can guarantee you that this will fail you miserably. It creases on me almost instantly.. well.. more like an hour after application. It tends to just slip and slides and never really sets.

Loreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara: I have heard so many great things about this mascara but unfortunately it doesn’t work for me at all. The formulation is really wet, it’s a plastic flexible brush, it doesn’t hold a curl at all, and it smudges within a couple hours without it giving me any volume.

Stila One Step Bronze Primer: The product looks like mushed up jello when it’s dispensed from the tube. The bronze coloring doesn’t disperse evenly so it leaves your skin blotchy after applying. The weirdest and grossest part is that after application theres some residue that forms if you continue to rub it. It’s so weird and nasty that makes me almost believe that I got a bad bottle.

Bare Minerals Face and Body Color Genuine Jade: This highlighter gets more and more green each time you use it. Unless you’re the Incredible Hulk I haven’t met anyone that has a green undertone to their skin. I have quite a yellow undertone so I thought that this product would work and the first couple of times did work but as time went on I noticed how green this product actually is.

Laura Geller Blush n Brighten in Honey Dipped: As much as I tried liking this bronzer in the end I just couldn’t force it to work. The color was just too orange for me and a little to shimmery as well.

Big Sexy Hair Spray and Play: I don’t like crunchy stiff hair spray. That is all.

Until Next Time,
❤ Jessica

Review: They’re Real Push Up-Liner

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Hello Lovelies!

I introduce to you the latest craze and stir up in the makeup world, Benefit’s Gel Liner Pen. This isn’t just your ordinary Gel Liner, the Silicon Flexible Tip is what makes this product a standout from the rest. It’s nothing like you’ve seen before in an eyeliner pen which is why this Pen comes with an instructions manual! How many beauty products have you tried that requires an instruction manual?!

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

They’re Real Push-Up Liner

One thing I really do like about Benefit’s Deluxe Samples is that it is literally the actual product in Miniature form so you are really able to get a feel for how the product actually performs. I’m not going to explain how to use the pen because you can take a look for yourself in the picture below.

IMG_0090 IMG_0087

Package: Very nice sturdy and nice packaging. The cap is a twist off cap so it ensures that you screw the cap on tightly preventing the product from drying out. The tip is a soft silicone so it can be easily wiped and cleaned.

IMG_0091IMG_0119Formulation/Performance : This is actually pretty dry but not too dry to the point where it dries quickly enabling you to work with the product. I haven’t experienced any smearing, smudging, flaking, or wear off throughout a 12 hour day aside from a little bit of transfer to my upper eyelid because sometimes my eyelid gets hooded. That’s still pretty amazing if you ask me.

IMG_0095

Usability: When you twist for the product to come out the product comes out like how play-doh comes out when you push it through a shaper. If you twist too much product out then it will just break off and sit on your eyelid until you manipulate it so don’t twist up too much at a time! It was hard to use the first time because it takes some playing around and getting use to for me to actually get a grasp on how this new tool works.

Final Verdict: This is a really cool concept and convenient for those that love gel liners. It definitely is a totally different application technique unlike any others in the market right now. The color and finish of this is what I like in eyeliners which is super black and matte. I think this is going to be one of those love or hate products because if you have the patience and the ability to master this new application process then you would probably really love it compared to the brush dipping into the product then apply. If not, then you might just give up before you even give it a proper try. I can’t say that I’m in LOVE with this product and that I recommend every single one of you to run out and get this. This would be one of those product that I would include in my On-the-go makeup bag because it is gel liner without the fuss. If you’re looking around for a new gel liner then definitely give this one a try, if not then you can hold off until a Sephora friends and family sale.

Until Next Time,
❤ Jessica

A Day Trip to Temecula for All the Winey

Hello Lovelies!

Recently I took a short day trip out to Temecula,CA for some wine tastings. If you are in the LA area, the drive is anywhere from 1.5-2 hours depending on traffic of course.

IMG_1207

You can grab some lunch in Downtown Temecula which has that old town feel. There are all sorts of cuisine and little boutique shopping areas.

We visited a couple Wineries but the two that I would most definitely recommend are Wilson Creek and Ponte. All the wineries are on one road so you literally just drive from one to the next and their less than 5 min away (driving wise).

IMG_1208

Wilson Creek Winery
This was at the end of road and one of the last wineries. The size and garden area of this winery is HUGE and beautiful. There are ample seating in the garden area with tables and umbrellas for you to sit, relax, talk, and enjoy your wine with friends or family. They have wine tasting $15/$20 per guest depending on if its weekday or weekends and you get to sample 5 different type of wines. They are known for their Almond Champagne which has a really nice scent of Almond but it does seem a little artificial. If you want to buy a bottle it’s actually cheaper to buy it at Bevmo or other retailers than at the winery. I though I had taken more pictures but I guess not.. so just go to their website to visualize what I’m trying to say (:

IMG_1230

Ponte
The size of this Winery is huge as well! There are two parts, one is the resort and the other is where the Barrel Room/Tasting Room/ and restaurant is at which is separated by a 5-7 min walk. The resort part was very new and decorated with a lot of reclaimed wood detailing. There are seating outside with fire pits incase it gets a little chilly in the evening. On the other side there was this beautiful garden area just outside the barrel room which is open for you to go into explore and see how the wine barrels are stored.

Tips** Before you go please check on the hours because a lot of them close around 5PM so we were unable to do some things that we wanted to… Like visit the Barrel Room..

IMG_1264so instead.. we were only able to take pictures in front of the pretty door.

Until Next Time,

IMG_1275Happy Wine Tasting!

Review: NYX Le Frou Frou Mascara

Hello Lovelies!

I have here another mascara review! I got this NYX mascara for Christmas which came in a set with some other products. I’ve actually never heard of anyone talking about this mascara so I’m not sure if it has good or bad reviews until now. I wanted to see what others have to say about it so of course I turned to Makeupalley right before starting this post. There are quite a lot of negative reviews on it and the thing that most people pointed out was that “it did nothing to their lashes”. I have to disagree with that actually because for me it does give me volume and a bit of lengthening like it says it does.

IMG_0080

Package: Pretty normal square tube. Nothing special.

IMG_0084

Brush: Very basic round bristle brush and it applies the product without clumping.

IMG_0081

Formulation: Its not too dry or wet so right in the middle. It gives me enough volume but I wish it would give me a bit more length. The length it gives me is very minimal and like a lot of mascara it doesn’t hold my curls very well. The mascara probably brings my 100% curled lashes down to about 50% after application. I can still live with it because it hasn’t gotten to the point where its pointing downwards which will cause smudging later on the day.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

NYX_LeFrouFrou_1 NYX_LeFrouFrou_2 Performance: Its lasts all day and I have only experienced smudging with this after about the 8th-9thth hour of wear which is still pretty good.

Final Verdict: The rating I would give this mascara would be a 3/5. This Mascara retails for $5.99 which is fairly cheap but for what it does there are way better mascaras in the drugstore for about the same price. This isn’t a horrible mascara but also it’s not something thats noteworthy. I will continue using this until I’m out but I would probably not be repurchasing this.

What is your favorite mascara under $10?

Until Next Time,
❤ Jessica
