Winter Skin and Hair Care Empties!

Hello!!

After 3 years I am finally going to make another attempt with YT. I have been filming and editing these past couple of weeks so I can have videos lined up to upload and I forgot how fun it is. Especially after learning some new programs and stuff the quality of my video compared to 3 years ago has improved SOO much! I’m excited to be able to create more content and find different ways to share it with you guys in a creative way (:

So… Here is the list of empties

Batiste Dry Shampoo – Original & Floral and Flirty Blush – you guys know this is the HG of HG.

Dove Refresh + Care Volume Dry Shampoo – I don’t think that this leaves my hair as refreshed as the Batiste one but the biggest put-off for me was the heavy fragrance. I felt like I was going to suffocate or something so I had to hold my breathe while spraying it then walk into another room to rub it in that way I can breathe properly.

Neutrogena Body Clear Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel- I’m sure I have shown this in my past empties already because I’ve been using this for years.

Opal One minute Oil Treatment – Just a reoccurring product thats been a staple for years.

Basics Moist Wipes
Daiso Cleansing Tissue- Definitely reccommend and I have already repurchased 2 extra ones as back up because its something I use on a day to day basis to clean my hands and surface area after my morning routine.

The Body Shop – Honeymania Body Butter – I can’t get enough of this delicious smell! I havent repurchased this yet but when I do buy body butter, this will definitely be the scent that I will be purchasing.

The Body Shop – Tea Tree Oil Toner and Facial Wash – The toner is a bit more harsh compared to others but if you have acne prone skin and need something to really clean your face then I definitely recommend it. I have repurchased this but I did not think the facial wash was as effective as the toner so I have not repurchased that one.

Lush – Lovely Jubblies – If only there was a regular lotion that smells like this. (Please let me know if there is!) I absolutely LOVE the smell of this which was one of the main reasons why I got it. Its moisturizing but I didn’t see much of a firming effect. Maybe its because I’m still young so I won’t notice a big difference but for the price I don’t think I will be repurchasing it.

Lush – Brazened Honey Mask- These are good mask to use just so its something different from your everyday skincare routine. Its a little treat to use something fresh and cooling on you face especially during the summer because these mask needs to be refrigerated. Think twice before you buy it though! Make sure you’ll have time to use it after you purchase it because it is perishable.

Shiseido Urban Environment SPF 30 – Once again a reoccurring staple.

Sonia Kashuk Eye Makeup Remover- This is a good eye makeup removed but I have found another one thats even better (The Body Shop Camomile Eye Makeup Remover). Soo… I will  not be repurchasing this.

SKII Treatment Essence – A product that I have heard so much about in the asian community and its like the miracle essence that will change your life. I have to admit that when I first used it, it really did make a difference to my skin. I saw the suppleness and the change in recovery time but after using it for exactly a year now I don’t see the dramatic change but I have repurchased this and is still in my skincare routine.

Jeunesse Luminesce Cellular Rejuvenation Serum – The most effective serum I have used. Leaves my skin so moisturized and it definitely speeds up the recovery of my acne scars. I scar super easily so I am always on the lookout for products that can help my skin recover faster. The only downside would be the hefty price point of $100+. I have not repurchased this yet but I will eventually.

Origins Ginzing Brightening Eye Cream – This is one of those neutral products that you can always fall back to if all else fails.

If you want a indepth review of any of the following products that has not been reviewed yet then comment below and I’ll work on it!

Thank you guys so much for reading/watching

Until Next Time,

Liese Bubble Hair Dye: Raspberry Brown

Hello Lovelies!

To my fellow readers that dye your hair you know how annoying roots can be. Unfortunately that is something we need to endure and take care of on a regular basis if we want our hair to look well kept. I haven’t dyed my own hair since these bubble hair dye came out so its been a couple years! I don’t have the time and money right now to go and get a $100+ coloring treatment done to my hair so I’m just going to do it myself while testing out these new (to me) innovation.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

The prep direction is pretty self explanatory but the application process got me a little weary. The tutorial on youtube from the company did not help me at all because when I tried to do it the way they showed it wasn’t applying evenly on my hair ( I have thick long hair). I would see clumps on the interior that did not get covered with hair dye. It might also be because I didn’t apply enough on my hair initially before moving onto the next step.

So my suggestion to you would be … IF you are following the YT tutorial then apply a VERY generous amount on your hair initially before moving onto pulling your hair up. OR A more full proof and safe way to do it would be to section off your hair in layers and work it one layer at a time.

The application process is definitely a lot easier than mixing traditional dye in a bowl compared to brushing it on with a brush.

I know the Before and after pics are terrible T.T but here is a more true to color in person picture of how the color looks. If you buy this in stores and there is a hair swatch for you to compare, the color is pretty accurate on the hair swatch. Not so much on the box though because the color on the box looks a lot more red.

Final verdict, I will be repurchasing this in the future if I want to dye my own hair again!

Until next time,

July Loves ’14

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Hello Lovelies!

Another month has passed which means its time to reflect back on this past month and think.. what products have I been really loving and reaching for nonstop?

I am going to start off with something that I have just been OBSESSED with..

Maybelline Rocket Volume Mascara:I just reviewed it here and I have not stopped using this since I opened it in the middle of this month. I am not joking that I can’t stop admiring my own lashes as to how awesome it looks because I have finally found a drugstore mascara that will keep my stubborn stick straight lashes curled all day.

Jergens Natural Glow Daily Moisturizing Sunscreen SPF20 – Fair to Medium: I am not an outdoorsy person so when summer comes around and I bust out those shorts my legs can probably blind you from a mile away because they are so pale and white. I have tried Jergens regular moisturizers in the past so when I saw that they had one with SPF I was like SCORE! There is nothing better than finding a multifunctional product that works really well. This is a gradual self natural looking tanner that is a moisturizer with SPF that doesn’t stink or feel sticky. I think thats all I have to say for you to get the overall picture of how awesome this product is.

Moroccan Oil: I normally do a deep repair hair mask about once a week but since I finished the ones I had I haven’t had the chance to repurchase any so I didn’t have any to use this month. To compensate for the lack of extra moisture I usually give my hair I have been using this Moroccan Oil after I wash my hair. It leaves my hair feeling soft and good smelling without it getting greasy. I can’t say that it prevents my hair from getting damaged and split ends because I have a ton to begin with but it is one of the best leave in conditioner/oils I have tried.

Michael Kors Watch: I’ve had this watch for awhile now but it was never my go to watch until this month. I didn’t realize how versatile it was and the leather strap goes great with my casual everyday summer outfits. My other watches are linked watches so it just looks more formal with the metal hardware compared to the leather. Also leather is just more comfortable to wear when it gets hot and sweaty.

Puzzles and Dragons: I have been obsessed with this game! Its a game on you phone that has bejeweled type puzzles that you have to clear to fight monsters. Through the game you get to accumulate different monsters almost like pokemon and you also get to assemble your team to fight the next levels. It’s a lot more fun than a regular puzzle game like candy crush because your progress goes beyond just passing the level. You can add your friends that plays as well so you can assist each other through each stage/battle.

If you could recommend one product that you loved this month what would it be? AND if you play Puzzles and Dragons then we should probably be friends!

Until Next Time,
❤ Jessica

Would I Recommend these?… I think NOT

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Helllooo Lovelies!!

So I have shared a lot of my beloved product discoveries but as we all know there are many not so great products that was tried along the way. Instead of snatching a special spot in my collection of products they get their own special blog post.

Maybelline EyeStudio Cream Shadow Palette: Just don’t do it. This is one of the worse cream shadow products I have tried. If you have tried the old NYX Jumbo Eyeshadow pencil and those don’t work for you then I can guarantee you that this will fail you miserably. It creases on me almost instantly.. well.. more like an hour after application. It tends to just slip and slides and never really sets.

Loreal Telescopic Carbon Black Mascara: I have heard so many great things about this mascara but unfortunately it doesn’t work for me at all. The formulation is really wet, it’s a plastic flexible brush, it doesn’t hold a curl at all, and it smudges within a couple hours without it giving me any volume.

Stila One Step Bronze Primer: The product looks like mushed up jello when it’s dispensed from the tube. The bronze coloring doesn’t disperse evenly so it leaves your skin blotchy after applying. The weirdest and grossest part is that after application theres some residue that forms if you continue to rub it. It’s so weird and nasty that makes me almost believe that I got a bad bottle.

Bare Minerals Face and Body Color Genuine Jade: This highlighter gets more and more green each time you use it. Unless you’re the Incredible Hulk I haven’t met anyone that has a green undertone to their skin. I have quite a yellow undertone so I thought that this product would work and the first couple of times did work but as time went on I noticed how green this product actually is.

Laura Geller Blush n Brighten in Honey Dipped: As much as I tried liking this bronzer in the end I just couldn’t force it to work. The color was just too orange for me and a little to shimmery as well.

Big Sexy Hair Spray and Play: I don’t like crunchy stiff hair spray. That is all.

Until Next Time,
❤ Jessica

June Empties: Hair and Makeup

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Hello Lovelies,

Welcome back to part 2 of my empties post.

I am going to start off with makeup first because the hair stuff you’ve seen in recent post already so its really nothing new.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Physicians Formula Eye Booster 2-in-1 Lash Boosting Eyeliner+Serum – $10.95

Need I say more? Theres 2 of these in the trash bin right now and if that doesn’t say that I freaking love this stuff then I don’t know what does. Long lasting, smear free, easy application, great price point, very pigmented, and just overall a HG product. I will repurchase this.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Model Co Fibre LashXtend Extreme Black Lengthing Mascara – $??

I got this in my birchbox awhile ago and this mascara just does absolutely nothing for me. It didn’t lengthen or volumize much. I like it when a mascara is on the drier side but this was just way too dry. I’m not sure if I got a bad tube but I couldn’t use this anymore after like a month after the first initial use. I would not recommend this product.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Benefit They’re Real Mascara – $23.00

Don’t you just hate it when an overhyped cult favorite product just doesn’t work for you? Well, I was really excited to try this mascara because sooo many people loved it and said it was such a great product but unfortunately my stubborn asian lashes didn’t like it. If it doesn’t hold my curl very well I can look past because I have accepted the fact that it’s very hard for me to find a mascara that will actually hold my curl well. So it did lengthen and separate my lashes like it claims but it didn’t volumize, lift, or curl my lashes. It started to smudge a little after the 6 hour mark but that acceptable. Overall, this is not the mascara for me so I would not be repurchasing this.

So for the next 3 products I’m not going to say much because I have mentioned these in past post before. I will be providing the link to a more in depth review if you’re interested.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Batiste Dry Shampoo Floral and Flirty Blush – $7.99 ($5.99 in TJ Max)

Loves it and will be repurchasing (In depth review)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

L’Oreal Total Repair 5 Damage-Erasing Balm – $5.99

Will not be repurchasing (In depth Review)

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque – $25.99

Will be repurchasing (in depth Review)

Don’t you agree that it’s one of the most rewarding feelings when you finally finish a product? You finally stuck it through to the end and now you can venture into the next new item. Although its a bittersweet moment when we have to say our farewells to some beloved products but we know that we will come together again one day when the repurchase has been made.

Until next time…

❤ Jessica

Battle of THE: Hair Mask / Deep Conditioners

Hello Lovelies!

My hair is dry, color treated, thick, and coarse with loads of split end. For an everyday conditioner I need to use some stronger big boy stuff and recently I have finished some that I would like to share and compare.

Macadamia Deep Repair Masque
PROS: 1. It smells AMAZING.. seriously. I don’t know what scent it is but its really good. 2. Conditions quite well and leaves hair nice and soft but you do have to leave it on for 7min+ or else the results isn’t that great. 3. Its cruelty free, paraben free, and alcohol free.
CONS: 1. The price is a bit steep at about $33 for a 250ml. BUT i just went online a checked, they sell this on the Target website for only $15!!.. I’m not sure if its a glitch or not but thats 50% cheaper than normal. 2. You need to use this when you really have time and when you’re not in a rush. If you don’t leave it in for a over 7min the results are very minimal. I’ve used it a couple times where I didn’t leave it on long enough and it just felt whatever after, so don’t waste your product like I did!
I don’t suggest using it on your scalp since this is a deep repair masque and is only recommended to be used twice a week. I haven’t personally tried it but I would think that it will weigh your hair down and make it oily faster after the initial wash.
I would be repurchasing this product.

L’Oreal Total Repair 5 Damage-Erasing Balm
PROS: 1. It fixes your dull and dehydrated hair by giving it a boost of moisture. Your hair will be softer after you leave it in for about 5min. 2. Fairly in expensive at around $6 for 250ml.
CONS: 1. This is probably filled with chemicals.. it smells like hair dye so its really of putting when you’re trying to find a product to repair your hair when it smells like the stuff thats damaging it. 2. It claims that is “instantly repairs the 5 signs of damage: split ends, weak, rough, dull, dehydrated hair. I would say that it does 3/5. It didn’t repair or prevent my split ends from forming and my hair was still weak after using this.
I would honestly pass on this product because I am sure there are other drug store deep conditioners that are a lot better or even the same without the heavy chemical/alcohol in this.

Opal One Minute Treatment
PROS: 1. Hello?! 1 Minute, thats it! 2. Very inexpensive at about $2 for 225ml. (i bought mine in Hong Kong and it is really that inexpensive and I remember scouting it a couple years ago and on Ebay and amazon that price was still fairly reasonable but I just checked right now and its around $10 a bottle!) 3.If you leave it for 1 minute, it will be a quick pick me up but the longer you leave it the softer and more apparent the results are. If you can leave it on for maybe even 10 minutes, the results are even better than the Macadamia one.. I kid you not!
CONS: I honestly can’t think of any cons.. besides the fact that its sold overseas and not here in the US.
I have gone through bottles and bottles of this.. its my Holy Grail hair conditioner/treatment. I’ve been using it for years and I haven’t found anything to replace it.

So who is the winner of this battle? *Drumroll* …. Opal One Minute Treatment. Taking into consideration the cost, quantity, and performance, Opal wins the battle. If you have any recommendation then please shoot them my way because I am always looking for a good conditioner!

❤ Jessica
