March Love ’15

Hello!

March literally flew by. I have no idea where it went because I have already lost track of the days even before halfway through. Here is my March favorites!

Target Round Blending Brush – This is probably the best blending, crease, AND outer corner brush. The size is perfect even for me with a smaller crease area. This is super soft and doesn’t shed when washing. The best part, its affordable!

Ren Omega 3 Optimum Skin Serum oil – Adding a pea size amount into my morning skincare routine has added that extra moisture my skin needed to prevent my face makeup looking cakey. Face oils has seriously changed my life!

Lush Ro’s Argan Body Conditioner – Lotion for lazy people. Apply it in the shower and when you get out your skin is left moisturized so you wont need to spend extra time after you get out to apply it. An added bonus would be how amazing this smells. Its the perfect rosey scent thats not overpowering.

Estee Lauder Advanced Night Repair Eye – Aside from this being a nice and fresh eye cream thats sinks into the skin without it being sticky, this is also a very nice base for under eye makeup. Like the rest of my skin, my under eye area has started to look cakey but an added boost of moisture fixed it. Unlike some other eye cream, this won’t cause products that you apply on top of it to slip and slide.

Crochet – I am not a grandma but I kind of feel like one. The art of crocheting is actually therapeutic and fun. I have been experimenting with different looks and feel by using materials besides yarn.

Trader Joes Salted Caramel Milk Chocolate Butter Cookies – Sweet sweet deliciously caramely goodness.

Clash of Clans – Heh… Heh… Heh… The addiction with another game has begun. The worse part is.. I have friends that feud this addiction. You build your base strategically to protect yourself and also raise an army to attack others. Let the wars begin!

DId your march fly by as quick as mine?

Until next time,
❤ Jess

Kale Chips

First that I’ve had Kale Chips was actually in class. We were having a sustainable pot luck in my environmental class. I thought wow, this is actually quite tasty. After I went home and started looking at recipes but never really actually made it myself.

I have purchased store bought ones but I don’t think its very digestible.. if you know what I mean.

I have finally decided to experiment and make my own kale chips. Many recipes are the same. So.. theres not really a right or wrong way but this is how I made it.

ImageInstead of buying  stock of Kale, I opted for the lazy way out. I purchased a prewashed, precut bag from Trader Joes. That way the ones that I don’t use I will use it for salad.

Image

Ingredients: Olive Oil, Pepper, Salt, and of course Kale.

Spread the Kale on the pan. Drizzle the oil on the kale. Sprinkle Salt and Pepper (your preference as to how salty and spicy you want it). Then mix it together so its evenly coated.

ImageImage

Place it in the oven thats been preheated to 350. Its going to take about 10-15 min. But check back on it every so often making sure that its not burning. You can take a fork and move the kale around in the pan to check if its done or not. You will know because you’ll feel the crispy-ness of the kale.

AND that is how Kale Chips is make. So delicious and simple. You can always season it with other type of seasoning for a variety of different taste. Be creative!

Only thing that I want to figure out is how can I keep my Kale from getting stale. After making it, if you don’t eat it within a couple hours, it will turn stale. So this is more of a make and eat type of thing. I need to figure out a way to keep the kale crispy so that way you can make a huge batch to munch on throughout the week. Because lets face it, most of us just want to grab and go with our busy life styles.

June Loves

Can’t believehalf of 2013 is gone already! where has time gone. For the month of june, I have kept it pretty simple. I’ve been trying to not buy anymore beauty products until I finish the ones I have. So a empties post would be coming soon! Enough of talking about future post, lets focus on this one. JUNE!

BiodermaOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Bioderma Sensibio H20… this is like a cult favorite. Smells like nothing. Feels like nothing. Perfect for those that have sensitive skin or is sensitive to scents. I use this to remove my face makeup before wash with a cotton pad and it works amazingly. Leaves your skin feeling so refreshed. Takes all the dirt, makeup, and oil off your face. Don’t think ill be needing any other makeup remover from now.

BatisteOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Batiste Dry Shampoo – Floral & Flirty Blush… [BGINFO: i havent tried a dry shampoo that I like. Psst.Tresseme.ojon. babypowder.spray.powder.foam.Heard amazing things about this and when I finally saw it I couldn’t help but pick it up. Its an aerosol spray. A very strong one actually. The spray is white so it initially leaves my hair a bit gray. After rubbing it in though, you hair looks instantly refreshed. Most dry shampoo i’ve tried only appears to be cleaner but would feel even worse than before. Especially after about and hour. But this Batiste one really actually leaves your hair looking, feeling, and smelling fresh.

Conceal RX

Physicians Formula – Conceal RX natural light High Coverage. Thats all you gotta know. Blends out easily. Not cakey. Lasts for about 10 hrs before it starts to fade. (i don’t powder or touchup throughout the day, so if you do it would probably last even longer)  The tiniest amount will cover away those acne scare or those stubborn bags under your eyes that just doesn’t go away. Probably one of the highest coverage concealer I’ve tried. And for the price at less than $7 you can’t really beat it.

Physicians Formula

Physicians Formula – Eye BOOSTER 2-in-1 Lash Booting Eyeline + Serum ultra black … I’ve used this eyeliner a couple years back and have kind of forgotten about it since i’ve been trying out other ones. I have forgotten how easy this liner applies. My favorite type of liquid liner would probably be this type. The brush is not too hard, so it doesn’t tug on your lids. You can create an ultra thin line or a thicker line. Doesn’t smear throughout the day (12+hrs of wear) As far as the serum goes, not so sure if it works or not.

OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA Nivea Lip Butter

Nivea – Lip Butter – raspberry rose kiss … first off.. this stuff smells delicious! Im not a fan of fruity scents but ohmygolly I can’t get enough of this. Really moisturizing and feels really nice on the lips. better than burtsbees for sure. This does nude out my lips a little bit since it is a milky pink color.

Baked Lentil ChipsOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERAOLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA

Food – Trader Joes – Lentil Chips … Absolutely obsessed with this. Doesn’t taste like lentils at all. A bit like popChips? SO delicious. By itself. With Guacamole. With Hummus. doesn’t matter.

Random- Small Talks by Of Monsters and Men … been in love with this song this month. Especially the cover that Julia Sheer and Jon D did.

Keeping the amount of products to the minimal. So this will conclude my June Loves, and its time to start discovering what other stuff I have that needs some loving.
